The red light on the Base Station indicates that an alarm was recently triggered on your system. To clear this out, you can dismiss the notification on the Keypad or SimpliSafe app - or disarm/rearm your system to reset the alarm state.

You can learn more about the light status for Base Station here.

Let me know if that helps, or if you need anything else.

How to dismiss on app?

@sandy148308 The notification needs to be cleared on the Keypad in order for the red light on the Base Station to go away. Currently, there is no option to do it in the SimpliSafe mobile app.

Hi @stephenbartlettus,

Have you tried disarming and then rearming your system? That should clear out the red status light color on your Base Station, too.

Having the same issue. We dismissed the notification and have armed and disarmed the system everyday for over a week now and it's still red.

@irfan527 I would then reset the Base Station to clear out the red light. You can do this by taking the following steps:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the Base Station, and use a Phillips Head screwdriver to remove the screw below the plug
  2. Remove the bottom cover and remove one battery from the Base Station
  3. Wait 30 seconds
  4. Reassemble the Base Station by inserting the battery, cover, and the power cord
  5. When powered up after the reset, the Base Station will say "Welcome to SimpliSafe"

Light slow flashing red.  Had a warning the last the system was operating on backup power because of a low battery.  Changed batteries in base unit, changed batteries in hand held keypad.  Still slow flashing red.   Armed and disarmed the unit… still flashing red.  Help!

@sawindel1 A slow red pulse means that there is a minor system error. If you look at your Keypad, it will tell you what the error is. Once resolved, the light will stop flashing.

In the keypad, turn the base station light off option. The turn it on. That fixes this.
