Spontaneous Arming Notifications when system is already Armed

We have been receiving reports of a very rare issue, where system armed notifications are being sent to the Timeline event log, even though the system is already armed.

We are investigating the possibility that this behavior is being caused by an issue relating to how the Base Station detects power fluctuations, causing it to re-send its current status. So there is no actual change to the armed state of the alarm - the Base Station is just repeating the most recent status update.

If you are seeing this issue, we strongly recommend updating to firmware 2.14 as soon as possible. You should also check your Base Station for damage or corrosion on the power adapter, battery compartment contacts, and the batteries themselves (important note: the Base Station should also only have AA NiMH type batteries). This guide can help if you’ve never opened your Base Station’s battery compartment before.

The investigation is still ongoing. If you have already tried the above steps and are still seeing this issue, please keep chiming in on this thread.

This is all new since the latest update. Nothing else has changed for over a year.

See pic attached. The system with re-arm several times in the middle of the night.

@eamail2001 definitley file under odd, but not unheard of. Early on my brand new SS3 system sent a duress call by itself at 3am in the morning and a smiling plainclothes detective rang my doorbell to say hi.  I was on the phone at 9am when SS support opened up politely but firmly asking what the heck happened.... long story short a bug fix went in that night....ancient hsitory but I suggest the same action by you. Firmly request this get escalated immediately and that you require a call back within 24 hours on why this behavior.  Please note I know someone whose teenage thought similiar events was hilarious, that is, until grounded for 4 weeks. Note, not saying that's the case here.

Please post your outcome here if you get a chance. Good luck.

Hi @eamail2001,

This certainly should not be happening with your system; I apologize that it has! I've escalated your case to our Support team. A Senior Specialist will be reaching out to you to get to the bottom of this.

@captain11 CS called me and is looking into it ASAP.

It is a strange one. I feel the new update triggered this. for 16 months this has never happened and from the night I did the update... Pow!

@emily_s FYI, it still happens plus sensors I confirm are closed show open and close on their own. All this only started happening after the latest update.

I'm getting regular 'spontaneous' notifications on my system. This has been happening for a few weeks, and usually get several per day (at least one, sometimes maybe four). I get both 'System Disarmed' and 'System Armed' repeated messages. Firmware is at 2.15.8.0.

@rleeden Thank you for reporting this. I've gone ahead and added your case to our engineering team's ongoing ticket as they continue to investigate this issue.

Are you any closer to a fix for this? It’s been going on for 2 years and I had it happen again last night. Given this service is supposed to offer comfort. Being told that something is arming my system via the app when I’m home alone is distressing to say the least.

I'm at the point of considering a more reliable system and removing simplisafe all together.
