Wireless Siren Speaker capable of relaying Voice Prompts

Would also like to be able to hear the base station announcements better. Even set to the loudest settings you cannot hear the base station announcements. This has been an ongoing problem for many people for many years. It seems like SimpliSafe could easily do an update to allow the voice to come out of their optional extra sirens or offer additional remote speakers that would fix this problem. Even on the same floor in my home you cannot hear the voice in another room. Please SimpliSafe take this problem seriously and give us this much needed security fix.

Hi all,

An update about this specific request. The Wireless Siren is a very simple component. It's designed to be LOUD, and that's really it. Unfortunately, it's not capable of relaying audio like a wireless speaker - only the siren and chirps that it does now. So using it to relay voice prompts is not possible.

The question also asked if a new additional remote speaker could be offered to solve this serious problem. If you can't hear what entry sensor is opened in another room what good is the system? Seems to me like generic answers are given and never complete.

@rrjak sorry about that. I was focusing on the piece about updating the existing component, which as I've said, is not possible.

We'd have to create a totally new version of the Wireless Siren. Currently that is not in the works. But we'll make sure you hear if it does happen.

@davey_d then the siren should easily make the doorbell sound. I shouldn’t have to purchase a doorbell chimer from another company to add to simplisafe doorbell

Hi @rrjak,

Thank you for this suggestion - it has been submitted to our dev team for their consideration. Once we hear back from our devs, an update will be provided in this thread.

@emily_s I too have this same request. In my vivant system , they do not have a speaker that I can put by my bed that only supports Chimes and announcements from the base station. I could see where you could get caught up and trying to do two way conversation , but in reality The speaker information coming from the base station is all that we really need for now Otherwise we have to buy a second base station. And I don't even know if that will work with two bay stations We need a stripped down version of a base station that supports anything coming from these bay stations speak This is an easy do , and it would be very helpful to put By the bedside. I'm looking for your feedback and your comments on this. I'm also interested in any responses. You've got back from text designers On this request.

Putting a panic button on the top of this device would be very helpful and would make sense.

@emily_s Does the system allow 2 Base stations? The base station should have a panic button on the top if it's bedside.

@tim80a3a6 Unfortunately you cannot have more than one Base Station with a single system. It helps to think of the Base Station at the system itself, and all of the other devices communicate to it.

The Wireless Siren as it's designed today is unable to relay the Base Station's voice prompts, so we would need to create a new device instead. But this product request has been submitted to our devs. If/when is is taken into development, we will post an official update in this thread.

Now this I like as if you can control it through the app if you want this or not and I would have it so if you are outside and door opens you could hear it on the extra siren which I have outside.  No biggie but I like the idea.

some of us need ths.

And maybe a few dozen more pins while you're at it.

Please, please, please create auxiliary speakers so we can hear voice prompts from the Base Station. Even with the Base Station set to the loudest level you cannot hear them in different rooms or levels in the house. Would think this is a number one priority for safety to the home owners.

Hi @sgw,

Thank you for this suggestion! The Extra Siren currently does not sound the Base Station's voice prompts, but we will forward this suggestion to our dev team for their consideration.

In the meantime, you can already get notifications of alarms and other events wherever you are, through Push Notifications and Smart Alerts!

We have also submitted the request for more PINs to them. When we have any updates, we'll let everyone know in this thread

@emily_s if I turn voice prompts off (ie. Entry sensor open) and just have the tone alert…. Would to hear that through an extra siren or just an alarm?

@emily_s any updates on this? I just signed up with SimpliSafe and the lack of volume on the base is making me want to switch to a different system. My home is not large and I cannot hear alerts or the doorbell from by bedroom with the door shut.

@randapandabear at this time, this feature request has been submitted, but is currently not in development.

We do have a Wireless Siren available, which can relay sirens from an actual alarm, as well as Entry Chimes. But it isn't able to relay chimes from the doorbell. Currently the only options are the notification from the SimpliSafe app, and of course the actual chime from your wired doorbell system.

What would happen if you added a secondary base station to your alarm system? Could that act as another speaker and is it possible?

@KB2730 It's helpful to think of the Base Station as the SimpliSafe system, and all of your devices communicate to it. Because of this, each system can only have one Base Station.

I am also on board with this suggestion! We need louder voice prompts for entry sensors! We use this in our business and unless you're right next to base station you can't hear it. If I could tap it into our music speakers that would be even better.

Most people cannot hear the Base Station from other rooms or other floors in their homes. Could you develop a Speaker to announce what the Base Station is saying that we could place wherever it is needed?

Hi @rrjak,

We do currently offer the Wireless Siren, which sounds the Base Station's siren, Entry/Exit Delay countdown, and Entry Sensor chimes, but it cannot relay the Base Station's voice prompts. We'll send this idea to our dev team for their consideration. Thank you for the suggestion!

I’ve been trying to find a way to extend my systems voice prompts and doorbell chimes. During this search I’ve lost count of all the other Simplisafe owners looking for the very same thing. I myself would buy at least 4 of these devices if they existed, why isn’t this in development yet? Requests for a feature/device like this go back several years.

I’ll even ask nicely, pretty please make these units?

We will buy some too! We cannot hear the voice prompts from various rooms in our business and it is a hazard. Please make speakers for the voice prompts!

Please, please make a device that will parrot voice prompts from the base station. Thank you!
