Strange Disconnects being reported

Hey, even without a tech, I'm a persistent troubleshooter, why, I dont know yet. Bored and a glutton for punishment retiree perhaps.

Decided today to play triangle with my access points.

Everything SS was connected to the best of my knowledge and per timeline detections.

Moved one access point right in behind these "new and improved"πŸ˜„ doorbells and two portico outdoor cams.

Amazing that the doorbells open live view better when disconnected.πŸ€”πŸ™„

And one towards the back of the house closer to both those 2 outdoor cameras and my other brand outdoor cameras.

Turned off access points and router, moved access points, restarted router then access points. All wifi connected as thay have for the last 15+ reboots.

A little surprised, but not much, to see both doorbells in the app disconnected.

Yet open to live view, do not detect so far. No message that wifi was down, which base "typically" does come nor reconnected. Keypad is happy and connected, not that I use it much anyhow.

Same for outdoor cams are connected, live views, but back to a couple weeks ago, no detections and no connection checks, connection checker says their all offline, app shows doorbells offline and get them to blink back in app, but go right back to offline again.

I'll give them 24 hours to settle to wifi points, if they will and see what tomorrow brings.

All other devices connected just fine, except Simplisafes πŸ—‘οΈ. πŸ˜†.🀬

I have lots of other functional cameras and entry sensors that work, not to worry, I know you won't anyhow. We're covered by other hardware.

At least the sensors still work and it still arms.

SMH.

Thought you'd like to know. Maybe not.

What did you break with 1.29 cameras Firmware?πŸ€”

I'll walk the perimeter and see if any of them detect. And follow up below.

Nope, not one of 7 detects anything. Zilch.

Nada.

Wait, hold your breath, 5 minutes later, left front just sent a detection and under deck sent a detection. Still struggling with the server up there?πŸ˜‚

We'll see whats what later or tomorrow.

Again, SMH

It's getting even more dismal, is the Simplisafe system completely collapsing?πŸ˜†

Decided to reboot the phone, hey, who knows, this came up and I'm completely locked out now.

Are they reporting server down anywhere, I'm not looking, it's getting late. I'm old amd need naps, often. It can't connect.πŸ€·πŸ˜‚πŸ€¬πŸ‘Œ Still looking in this end.

Guess I'll stop here before it completely fails and never works again. Lol

I am also seeing this in my app

@rj_charles I also see this message.  Seems SimpliSafe is broken lol.

Yep, that's what I thought.

App finally opened after the weirdness above, but all are cams offline now.

Server bugs? Crowdstrike leftovers? Hacked? Lol

I'm getting the same screen asking for my PIN. Went to my keypad to see if maybe Internet was disconnected and tried connecting to a different WiFi. System kept saying my password was wrong but it's not. Now my keypad isn't on a WiFi connection. My base station also has a solid white ring. On hold with simplisafe support and did a text conversation with a support bot, but don't get anywhere. I think Simplisafe is completely down.

@Ej23 That's what I'm leaning towards also. App just went back down to that pin thing again. Their probably working on it and rebooting etc. a lot...

Have they tried; move the base, take out the batteries, push the reset button and put it on a dedicated 2.4ghz WiFi channel with nothing else connected.

Take the server closer to their customers, call their ISP,  or call SS Philippines support. Etc. πŸ˜‚ I sound like Clark in Christmas Vacation.

Facetious, sarcastic humor of course.😁

Seriously, while in the app I actually managed to arm it. But am locked out again, saw some of my walk about in the timeline. That's about it though, locked out.

@dlpsr I too did the Clark Griswald troubleshooting πŸ˜‚.  I'm glad they didn't have me move or reset things. I work in IT and already did the first 50 pages of the troubleshooting handbook lol.

Everything worked again for about five minutes, then back to this "base station can't connect" error with PIN, etc. as above.

Got a hold of someone through online chat. There's a "power outage" on their side and they've escalated to their Engineering team. No ETA for resolution as of 9:23 PM EST.

Funny thing is I was also on hold waiting to speak with someone and once I got through, that rep said they were performing system maintenance and updates for the mobile app as well. This "maintenance" is causing issues with Base Stations communicating and problems with the mobile app. Still no ETA, but their Engineers are aware and working on issues. Rep also stated this wouldn't impact alarms and dispatching for emergencies.

It seems it's sorta back, but still on life support.

Looks like it's back online. So far. Had to take down the server just as I'm testing on my end. πŸ˜‚

Anyhow, testing helped the doorbells a little, more tests needed or seems so. We'll see.

Outdoor cams still 8 seconds to live views.

No change. Cameras Firmware bugs there.

More fiddling tomorrow perhaps. Give the change 24 hours or so.

Seems like everything is back to normal on my side.

Well, the doorbells are having connection caniptions since the outage, but then they always did, even these new doorbells.

Actually the old doorbells stayed connected better than the new used ones that are supposed to be better. I'll play a while, then consider putting the old ones back on I guess. SMH πŸ™„
