I have indoor camera installed indoor that looks outside through a glass window. The motion detection doesn't work. I tested the camera within the room and motion detection works fine but when it is facing outside through the window glass, it will not detect any motion outside. Live feed works fine

For inside window mounts, you need cameras that run pixel comparison algorithms instead of PIR. I have one in almost every inside window in two for $10, rubber stick on mounts. Cameras are $20 to $30ish cost each. Some of the cameras app Ai feature

I need to connect my doorbell to a new router but the securing screw on the bottom of the doorbell seems to be stripped. It will not unscrew. Any ideas on how to get it off of the wall?

@mikesoccermd The only solution is DIY. Get longer set screws at the hardware that hang out a bit. (Pliers if necessary later) If you ever get the old screw out. I don't remember the size, take the old one along as a sample.

The base station went off at 4 AM announcing that it couldn't connect to Garage Siren. It also made a noise like a bell ringing every few seconds while doing the announcement.   I was in Home mode at the time.  I took it out of home mode and it still made the announcements and bell ringin

No, but mines inside the house. My guess is that having it in the garage, the base station has to send an RF signal to the siren, sensors etc. It may be tetter tottering on the hairy edge of communication. Either move the siren closer towards the b

@icomesana 😊 It's usually a pain in the kiester even for me sometimes. Doesn't last forever, so remember or take notes. Reauthorization. The procedure was on Github. Can't take the credit other than sharing.😂

I have a Gen 3 System with several cameras. My current router which is 7 years old has separate SSID for 2.4 & 5.0 connections. No problem with that. I am looking to get a Netgear 970 Mesh router which supports. 2.4, 5.0, and 6.0 bands and generally uses a single SSID. Will I be able to connect

I have an old Orbi RBK53, it had no problems with OD cameras or doorbells. Yours will have way more settings than mine though. Best bet if you feel secure about it, is to name the SSID the same and use the same password. All your hardware "should"

It would seem that a backdoor has been found in the ubiquitous ESP32 microchip made by Chinese manufacturer Espressif and installed in SimpliSafe. Undocumented commands that could be leveraged for attacks were found buried in the OS code. Are SimpliSafe going to follow up with these findings and en
