How to set up my spouse on the same account
Hopefully this isn't a dumb question, but I want my husband to have the same app access/capabilities that I have. He's downloaded the app but it doesn't give him the option to connect to an existing system? Is there a way he can connect to our existing account/base system?
Thank you!

The problem arises when you want a user to have slightly different capabilities than the account owner. That is not currently (has been requested for many YEARS) available.

As far as the two apps, yes same email and password but that's stored, so no issue there either.
On the account itself we use the form
John & Mary Doe
Primary phone my cell number
Secondary my wife's cell number
Done.

This is extremely deficient. Especially when multi-factor Auth becomes involved. Also, in an ideal world the primary should be able to control level of access of secondary or subsequent users. Both to accurately track activity and to prevent corruption of login credentials. Even simplisafe's own online support is challenged by understanding MFA when two primary phone #s are involved. This aspect of UX is horrid.

This is not clear to me, and I don't know if anything has changed since these posts.
I want my wife to get the same alerts I do, to have the same ability to arm/disarm that I do, at the same time that I do, using the app. Is this not possible? As a new user, I'd hate to have to cancel my account and return my newly-purchased and installed equipment, but if the system is only designed for a single user, that won't meet our needs.

I do not see a resolution to this, has it been added?

This is the most obnoxious feature of this service. It makes 0% sense not to give both homeowners access to their own security system. I have complained about this so many time and Simpli Safe does not care. It makes absolutely no sense.
It is DANGEROUS.

Any update to this? I’m not sure how every other alarm company has this option and SimpliSafe doesn’t?
thanks.

New user here and I agree that it is extremely inconvenient that my spouse cannot his own login credentials and be able to monitor the system on his own in the event I am not near my phone. What is the status of developing the capabilities to allow both of us to have our own app and monitoring capabilities?

SimplSafe, you need to figure this out. It is absurd that we cannot have multiple users and that I have to text my wife the code if she wants to login.

Gee, requests for this go back at least 7 years, and SimpliSafe says that it is "in development". I doubt it...I owned a software company. When one is committed to a defined task, it typically can be accomplished quite quickly. I saw the note 2 years ago that SimpliSafe was "working on it" with plans to launch in the Spring. It appears to me that SimpliSafe does not prioritize their users, and that their financial considerations are outweighing user needs.
