@larrybailey you can downgrade to an unsubscribed plan. You'll still be able to livestream through the app, and even receive notifications for motion. But you'll lose the camera's ability to record to unlimited storage in the cloud.
Why Can't I just Cancel right here from my computer? Service is Simply deteriorating. I removed indoor camera months ago but my plan still went up from 25 bucks a month to 28 bucks a month anyway. Indoor camera would stay on for 15-20 minutes every night just spying on us and interrupt our evenings because of it..
Guess I must waste more of my time w/this system and get on the phone to cancel the 30 a month charges. Maybe I can sell the system to somebody? I'll Simply Post this on FB since SS won't let me post this right now
When you stop the monitoring they cancel your lifetime warranty. Never mentioned when I purchased the system. I will purchase a RING alarm system at least they don't lie to you.
@nowak991 sorry to hear that you didn't have the best experience. You are correct. By default, all SimpliSafe hardware is covered under a 1-year Limited Warranty. When you are subscribed to the $27.99 Interactive Monitoring Plan, one of the benefits of that plan is the unlimited Protection Plan that covers all your components for as long as your are subscribed. You can read more about it here.
@crawfish Are you referring to the Base Station's light and voice prompts? Both of these can be turned off using either the SimpliSafe mobile app or Keypad.
To turn off the Base Station's light:
Using the mobile app: navigate to the My System gar on the bottom of the screen > Base Station Settings > Base Station Light > toggle that setting off
Using the Keypad: Menu > System Settings > Base Station Light > Off
To turn off the Base Station's voice prompts:
Using the mobile app: navigate to the My System gear on the bottom of the screen > Base Station Settings > Voice Prompts > slide the bar to Off
Using the Keypad: Menu > System Settings > Voice Prompts > Off
I know this thread is a bit older, but is it still current in that there's no way to cancel other than to call SS support? Also, I have SS door locks, anyone have any idea what happens to them if I cancel?
@ssawczyn Depends, completely cancel or fall back to self monitored? And yes, until new rules and law kicks in, call is the only option.
Locks and all hardware should still work if self monitoring. Even some notification I think.
If self monitoring, make sure you're crystal clear or they'll turn it into a useless rock and completely cancel you and you'll have to call again. Purposeful? Who knows? Probably.
Expect to be forwarded to the retention department to try to keep your money coming in. Perhaps 3 months free monitoring offered? 😆
@ssawczyn As Dlpsr mentioned, you do need to call our Support team at 1-888-783-8441 to downgrade or cancel your monitoring plan. Once you verbally confirm your account's Safe Word with our agents, they will go ahead and make that monitoring change for you.
If you downgrade to our free Basic App Control plan, your Smart Locks (and all of your devices for that matter) will still be active, and you can continue to remotely lock/unlock them from the SimpliSafe mobile app.

Once cancelled, is there a way to stop the blinking blue light and quiet the voice alerts?
