Installed in a barn

I just installed a new system in a barn I have on my hunting property. Got it all installed but the base stationed notified me that there is no link to dispatch. Does the base station need an internet connection to get set up? I know I have good cell coverage at my barn. I'm a little confused as to why it wouldn't have a connection to dispatcher. Could it be the metal siding of the barn is messing with it? Any info is appreciated.

@jriedy85 No internet connection is required but it is better if it has it for various reasons, but it does need a cell connection. Metal siding is probably the issue here, but could also be cell coverage. First, do you know what SIM card you have in your base. If you didn't specify a request for Tmobile or Verizion, you most likely have Tmodile (Vodaphone).  So you have two things to check out here. I would first determine the type of SIM and carrier, and then move on to the siding issue by repositioning the base.  Also depending on the location of your barn, the base and other components are not rated in extreme heat or cold.

It's going to have heat. So no issues there. I had no idea you could specify what SIM card you could get. That's probably the issue. I know Verizon has great coverage where it is but I don't think many other cell providers do.

One word of warning on Verizon.  They just lit up their local 5G towers near me and took some bandwidth from 4G..and my signal for my cell phone has dropped significantly since.  I am to call support tomorrow to complain but, yes, I agree with you, Verizon overall has the best signal, at least from my experience.
