Doorbell Ringing Excessively

@davey_d  hi my doorbell generally works fine, except every once in awhile (like last night) it will ring excessively for an hour or so. Always at night. I have deactivated the motion sensor bc someone told me the wind or something could set it off but that didn’t help last night. Any ideas would be very appreciated.

Hi @acmiller1997,

This is the first I've heard of this happening. By "excessively", do you mean that you get constant motion notifications? Or are you actually getting constant doorbell rings?

The built-in motion sensor works by infrared - meaning it's looking for sources of heat that are moving around within view. So it could be triggered by anything that generates enough heat.

The first question I would ask is, what is actually within view of your doorbell? There might be something that appears, or turns on, at a specific time, that is setting the camera off.

Ours does the same. Will be fine for weeks/months and then someone will ring it and the doorbell spazzes out. Will ring over and over like it's stuck or something. It did it just now when someone rang our bell to ask about our yard. It is very frustrating and extremely aggravating.

@mnkickstand69 I'll ask the same questions as @acmiller1997 . Do you mean that there's one long, constant ring? Or is it a series of triggers?

My doorbell pro just did the same thing, someone rang it, and it just kept ringing over and over and over again as if someone was holding the button down or kept pushing it. Of course, I got continuous notifications also. I checked to see if the button was stuck and it wasn't. To get it to stop, I had to reset the doorbell and go through the activation again.

Issues resolved with replacing the wired doorbell chime with an analog one instead of a digital one.

Just was woken up about an hour ago to the doorbell analog chime going off.  It was fast as if someone was doing Morse Code on the button.  It wasn’t stuck, and when I placed the doorbell OFF on motion sensor, it went away.   I waited for about 5 min, placed it back ON Motion sensor, (Medium Detection) settings, it started to do it again.  So I turned off the Motion Detection again.

This was at 3:30 AM this happened.  I appreciate this going off in the most inconvenient times.

You guys have a problem with your software or something.  First time this has happened since owning your product.  (It’s been about 6 months).  Now I’m finding some sensors going off line, your keypad with new batteries are not responding.   This is becoming a real nuisance.  By the way, all sensors and items are updated, and the base station is current with all its updates.  I’ve had to remove the rechargeable AA batteries and power it down 2x as directed by support because the keypads don’t work at times.  Every week I check the menus for current updates…

you guys need to get your act together.

Quickly.  Find a fix and a workable patch.   Getting woken up at 3:30 AM for no reason honestly is a serious concern.  I’m sure Im not the only one experiencing this by the way.

@tw231982 I see that you've already gotten in touch with our Support team and they're sending a Chime Connector your way. If the Chime Connector does not help resolve this issue, please let me know so we can continue troubleshooting.
