Older camera not connecting to WiFi.

I was recently gifted a 2 year old SimpliSafe system that was still packed and never used. Setup of the base station and sensors worked perfectly however the camera refuses to connect to my 2.4g WiFi.

I have googled and tried everything under the sun to get this camera to connect but after I use the setup wizard in the app it says offline every time.

I have also purchased a new camera because I wanted to setup one for outside and it connects fine.

Anyone else have this issue??

@dorkerific I think I may have the answer for you, and its buried in the forums.  Next time suggest you try a Google site search.

Now for what I believe the issue is.  I have 3 simplicams, and two of them failed for multiple reasons. Some of the early simplicams had two issues: weak metal springs on the privacy guard that snapped and prevented them from opening to record anything but a side of metal,  and the second, which is pertinent here,  bad memory chips that prevented firmware updates to be successfully applied and have the camera operate.

I highly recommend you call SS and have it replaced.  (Be forewarned, yes, you will have to troubleshoot a bit first but after that they will replace it.)  Please post your outcome here if you get a chance.
