How did SS know power was restored?
We lost power for ~24 hrs last week. We have a backup generator that serves needed circuits but the base station isn’t one so it is without power for duration of the outage. As part of the switchover to backup power the main power coming in from the line is switched off at the main panel switch - or at least I’m 99% sure it is.)
So what has me scratching my head is that when our main power was restored the SS system chimed (somehow) and that’s how we knew it was back.
So is there someway the system would know the power is back even though the base station is dead or am I misunderstanding the scenario?
thanks!

@ckone0814 The Base Station can be powered through a wall outlet, or through its backup NiMH rechargeable batteries. If there is a power outage and the backup batteries died, the Base Station should turn back on once your power is restored, as it would be getting a charge from your outlet.
