unable to receive a confirmation code to verify my phone number

Hi.  I am unable to receive a confirmation code to verify my Consumer Cellular phone number.
Is SimpliSafe not able to communicate with Consumer Cellular phones?

Hi Doug,

Depending on your provider, it might just take a while for the confirmation to come through.

If you have a smartphone though, we do suggest that you enable Push Notifications through the SimpliSafe app instead. Since those alerts go straight through the app, you might find them a bit more reliable than alerts going through SMS text.

Lacking Confidence in Simplisafe...
I've read the many dissatisfied Simplisafe subscriber comments
We too have never been able to verify our phone numbers with Simplisafe.
Wifi IS connected!
Push Notification IS enabled.
I'm a Cricket Wireless subscriber, as are many other Simplisafe users.
How are we supposed to maintain confidence in Simplisafe protecting our homes if they can't fix a simple issue a long standing issue like this?

P.S. SUGGESTION: If your programmers can't make the feature work and work correctly, why not just delete the feature in the next app up date. It would sure save a lot of headaches for Simplisafe and us.

I am with T-Mobile and have had the same problem for 3+ weeks.(after having a "verified phone number' for 4 years).  I called SimpliSafe this morning and their advise was to delete & reinstall the app. We will see if that helps!

Did that work for you?   I just swapped to T-Mobile and now having same issue also.  Along with not receiving texts and push notifications.  I think I will be canceling monitoring and changing security system.  A lot of people are having issues with this.

I have been having the same problem for over a month! I have deleted and added our phone numbers about 10 times! It works for a couple days and then "unverified' again.
I am going to look in to another company. This is crap!

Hi all,

This is a known issue with Smart Alerts, that seems to be affecting our T-Mobile customers. Our dev team is still investigating this matter.

In the meantime, if you have a Smart Phone and the SimpliSafe app installed, we recommend that you activate Push Notifications, through the Alerts & Notifications section. Those alerts go directly from our servers to the app itself, rather than your carrier's SMS gateway, so it may work more reliably for you.

Please stop "pushing" push notifications as an alternative. They are not.

The biggest reason is that if your phone is off or in a place where you don't have service, you miss the push notification. But you'll get the text notification when your phone is on/service resumes.

You need to FIX the text problem.

Push notifications on Verizon iPhone aren't working.  This is all a recent issue (within ~3-weeks).  What's happening?

This is very aggravating as I am also having the same issue.  Its been over s month since it has been reported and it appears Simplisafe has still not resolved this.  This needs to be resolved to work with T-Mobile or I will find another alarm company.

I'm having the same issue with a Verizon iPhone.  Was working fine up to about 3-weeks ago.  Push notifications are not working either. Tried deleting the number and adding back - no help.

Same thing happening with Cricket phone. Have had the app for 2-3 years now & never had to verify my phone number. Now it's once a week for the past 2 months.

I am trying to set up my new system and can't get the verification text, so I can receive texts.
NOT A GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION.  Trust this to protect my home, but I can't even get a text sent to me?

Ridiculous. I need this to be a text. Have Verizon, can't get validation. I use a hearing aid... texts chime in my hearing aid. Push notifications do not. Please fix this. I need to know immediately when the temperature sensor goes off. It's why I bought this...

@niennakalen I have Verizon and texts work fine. I believe there are at least two settings to chose from  (Verizon and Verizon Smart phone?)  Suggest you call support to work through.

Captain, it's been mentioned several other times to choose the "smartphone" option, or, vice versa to see if either works, but the issue goes beyond that according to all the posts in the threads.  Mine are working fine too (hope I didn't jinx it by saying that!), but there were a few other times having problems with receiving text messages (for both SS2 and SS3 - there's never an explanation on SS's part, which makes it even more difficult for the customer).

I have verizon and cant get the verification code texted to me to verify my cell number for text alerts.  I have deleted the app, turned off the phone, reloaded the app, updated the phone, reloaded the app. over and over.  I Called Verizon and they said there is no reason for the texts not to come through.  Simplisafe help line said to call Verizon.  This is definitely a problem for a security system! Yikes!

Is there any update on this for Tmobile? Iphone allows you to create a contact as an emergency bypass so even when you phone is silent if that contact texts you your phone will plays the text tone. I really want to set this up to wake me up if I am sleeping. Also I for some reason I do not receive a push notification when the alarm is triggered only when it is put into off home or away mode. Please resolve its super important that people at least get some sort of notification
