Are you seeing any error messages on your Keypad, like Keypad Out of Range? Or are you setting up your Keypad for the first time and it will not add to your system?
Performing a power cycle on the Keypad can also help refresh its connection to the Base Station. To perform a power cycle:
Remove the battery cover on the back of the Keypad
Remove all 4 batteries
Wait at least 30 seconds, this should allow the Keypad to fully power off
