How to have all of your cameras record on command!
As I mentioned in another post, after six years with SS3 I finally broke down during the recent 40% off sale and purchased a key fob. My intention was to keep it on the nightstand, next to the existing panic button, and use it when the inevitable siren start blaring, hopefully for a false alarm, in my hand while on the phone with dispatch.
I hit the off button while the system was already off, and, duh (at least for me) all of my six cameras began recording, and about a minute later were on my timeline and I could replay them. Tada moment, again, at least for me, if I want all of my cameras to record on command just hit the "off" button on my keyfob. Old dogs can learn new tricks..woof.

I assume this is because all cameras record when certain events happen and not because of a special feature of the fob. In theory you should be able to perform any of these actions and force cameras to record:
Alarms
Disarming your SimpliSafe system
Camera Detected Motion
User Triggered Recording
Secret Alerts (When Enabled)
User-Initiated Test of the SimpliSafe system
Duress Alarm
Silent Panic button
Entry Delay (After entering your home while the system is alarmed)
Power Restored
Obviously you don't want to perform some of those actions or cause some of those issues just to get your cameras to record but disarming your system (via keypad, mobile app, fob, etc.) is a pretty innocuous thing. You could also get an entry sensor, set it to secret alert and mount it in such a way that it's easy to trigger the entry sensor and reset it. It's a cheaper solution than the fob and you can locate your contraption at your desk, next to your bed, etc.
