Sensor Adhesive Failure

It’s a little preposterous that this seems to be the best way to contact SimpliSafe about this, but while I was on vacation, the adhesive on one of my window sensors failed, triggering an alarm at 1am local time. I got notified by text in Europe 9 hours ahead, and had no choice but to have the police respond. Naturally, they determined it was a false alarm. I had no idea what had really happened until our cat sitter stopped in 12 hours later, which made for a rather nerve-wracking day on vacation.

I’ve had to replace SS sensor adhesives with 3M control strips several times previously, so this seems like a problem that ought to be addressed. My previous FrontPoint sensors adhered with some kind of super-sticky glue from Hell, and even though FP was otherwise terrible, the sensors certainly never came off.

Thanks for listening.

Hi @xiiidesign,

I'm very sorry to hear about this false alarm, and that your sensor has fallen off your window a few times. When placing the adhesive on your window, do you clean the area before? It is our recommendation that users clean the area with hydrogen peroxide and let it dry before using the adhesive, as it sticks better to clean areas.
