How do I stop the annoying chime every time a door opens with the system off ?

@davey_d​ I am a new Simplisafe customer (bought a home with the system installed). I have followed these instructions; my chime volume is set to zero. However, the chimes still go off for back, front, and basement doors whenever they are opened/closed, which is driving my dog insane. Any suggestions?

@imdawncallahan​ for everyone's benefit, here are the steps (based on the most recent version of the app):

  1. Tap My System on the bottom right
  2. Select Base Station Setting
  3. Look for the Entry Sensor Chime or Name Announcement 
  4. Set the slider to the desired level, e.g. OFF
  5. Make sure to hit Save at the top right of the page

But assuming that you followed the steps above, I should ask: Do you also have a Wireless Siren? That also has its own separate setting:

  1. Tap My System on the bottom right
  2. Select Device Settings
  3. Scroll down and select your Siren
  4. Set Door Chime to the desired level, e.g. OFF
  5. Hit the send to base button on the bottom right

Hi @sgiustino ,

You're looking for the Entry Sensor Chime setting. You can find it in the SimpliSafe app, under My System > Base Station Settings > Entry Sensor Chime.

@drjsellis​ Apologies, we recently updated our app and a few titles in there have been changed. In the mobile app, if you navigate to My System > Base Station Settings > Entry Sensor Chime, you should see a sliding bar that lets you change the volume of the Entry Sensor's chime.

I have also edited the original response to reflect this app change.

How do you turn it off just for a specific device but leave it on for the rest?

@SpaceRanger​ The Entry Sensor Chime setting cannot be turned on/off on a per-sensor basis. It can either be turned on for all Entry Sensors, or off completely.

I request to have the chime announcement as an option per device, not for the entire system. I may want to add a sensor to our baby's door for chime but not for the whole house. Just a thought and a much needed option.

I'm a new SimpliSafe customer -- love the system overall but want to reinforce @diverdaverman's feature request. Chime should be controlled at the entry sensor level. We have numerous doors but only want the chime to go off when a subset of the entry doors are opened.
