Unable to print Return Label

Hi, my name is Janice, and I bought alarm system last month and I need to return some items, but I was told I can only print it out from my email, but I was unable to print the return label from my computer.  So I asked customer service if there was a way that I could have them mail the return label to me. Because not everybody have a computer. I was told there was no possible way.  Can someone help me with this?

Hi @janiceedens ,

So sorry to hear that you're having trouble. Yes, unfortunately our frontline agents do not have a way to request a mailed return label at this time. Do you have access to printers at work, or at your local library?

If you like, I can put you in touch with a specialist who can help work out some options with you.

@janiceedens There is an issue with the format that SS sends out as I couldn't just open the attachment and hit print either. Sizing is all wrong, but you can do an easy workaround. This is if you are on Windows, but would be similar on a MAC.

Open the attachment of the address label sent to you. Adjust the label to the proper size to appear on your screen.

Open the "Snip and Sketch" tool (should be located on your bottom task bar) or you can find it on your start manu.

Click on new

Your mouse pointer will now be a "+" and use it to outline the perimiter of the label, then let go the mouse button.

It will now be copied to the Snip app window.

Click on the three dots on the upper tight top and select print.

You should be good to go.

Now for SImplisafe: You should train your agents that if they have to say "no" to a customer, they need a supervsior's approval. And, if it is a no, it should be for a darn good reason, and, in this case, is not one of them IMO.

If a customer can't print a shipping label, you do it for them and place it in the email so they can use a clipping tool and do it for themselves, or, give them alternatives.

@janiceedens please post your outcome here if you get a chance, and a very happy thanksgiving to you and your family.

@captain11 I believe the OP is having trouble because she does not have a printer, so it's a different issue entirely.

@davey_d speaking from experience, the printing of the return label is not just a click and print issue. The process I described is what I had to do to print a return label, and my Brother mutlifuntion printer is as capable as they come.

Please have someone look into this.

As far as the customer having no printer, I reread the post and still can't come to that conclusion.

I meant to say, it doesn't sound like they have a computer at all, which is more common these days now that we have smart phones that can do almost everything!

captain11 is correct, its a pain to print the return label from the email. I personally have to save the image to pictures and then print it as a thumbnail size to get the correct size label.

I can't print the return label from email as not the entire label appears. What do I do?

@sherrylucy The return label that was emailed to you, is part of it cutoff? If so, our Support team can send you a new one. If the full return label is intact, but it doesn't print on one piece of paper, it may help to download the label and upload it in a word processor to scale it.

@bgeffe If you reach out to our Support team, they can send you the return label.

@emily_s I spoke to several support representatives today and they flat out refused to send a label. They would only email an electronic label which is useless to those w/o printers which this thread is concerning.

Just an update relating this very issue which I've had myself. No functioning printer, nor easy access to work printers. I was assured multiple times from several different SimpliSafe customer service representatives that USPS would be able to print the label for me. Over and over I explained that I have previous experience with USPS and know they would not do this. Nevertheless, going on their direction, I spent time in line at the post office just to have them reject that option again. Let me be clear, USPS WILL NOT print the label for you. SimpliSafe customers are forced to find another option, unlike many other smaller companies that include physical return labels with products.

@Simplisafe, davey, emily: low hanging fruit here. Have a form in the community for a customer to  request a return label be mailed to them. Done. Give an intern a few bucks, a pizza and a case of beer and get it done.
