The batteries in the Keypad should last about 8-12 months so there is definitely something going on that is causing shorter battery life. A few different things that could cause this would be if something is causing the proximity sensor to be triggered too often turning on the backlight or if there is some sort of interference between the Keypad and the Base Station as that will cause the Keypad to work harder to get the signal through.
