Home to away issues

So lately I have noticed that I have to turn my SimpliSafe system off from home mode in order to put it into away mode on the key pad and find this rather annoying. I don't know if this is because I have a smart lock installed as my smart lock turns my system off from away once I use my pin to unlock my front door. Has any one experienced something like this while using the system?
