Short power cable for outdoor camera - where to buy

Where can I purchase a short version of the outdoor power supply (cable + adapter or just the cable) for the outdoor camera? Mine will plug into a power outlet on the underside of a roof overhang so I need a super short cable and not a 25 ft roll.

Current one SimpliSafe is selling is 25ft IP65 water-resistant cable and outdoor rated power adapter.

I don't know that Simplisafe is selling a short cable.  Until they do (if they do) you could wrap the excess cable around the camera to keep it out of the way.

Hi @Christina,

Unfortunately no, we do not have a shorter version of the Power Adapter cable available. The primary use case was for plugging into a power source inside.

The only workaround would be to coil the excess cable around and secure with a ziptie.

is it safe to coil the extra cord?  wont it get overheated ?

The following has NOT been tried AND will void any warranty on the power plug AND possibly the camera.

Not sure how long this posting will stay on the site.  In theory, it should only cost about $30 + tax and shipping.

Since I am unsure how the cable is created, using the theoretical line of reasoning, one could cut the cable and resplice it to the proper length.

Good luck, Mr. Phelps!!!

@drew_foster The plugs are not sold separately, we only have the full Outdoor Camera Power Cable available.
