Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm Listener Available Now!

SimpliSafe® is proud to announce that our latest product, the Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm Listener is now available!

The Smoke & CO Alarm Listener works alongside your existing, third-party smoke and/or CO detectors you already have in your home*. When your detector(s) senses smoke or dangerous CO gas and the siren goes off, the Smoke & CO Alarm Listener recognizes the distinct sound and pattern, and triggers an alarm for your SimpliSafe® system. And if you are subscribed to a monitoring plan that includes 24/7 emergency dispatch, our monitoring center will request dispatch of emergency services.

Head over to our online store to get yours today!

*The Smoke & CO Alarm Listener is not for commercial use. It is compatible with all residential UL certified smoke and CO detectors only.

Nice, now your SS3 system can be virtually joined to existing non SimpliSafe smoke and CO sensors. Now I want to state the obvious, at least to me. This is one step closer to providing connectivity to non SS IoT devices. Yesh, SS, you know what I am talking about, lighting.  I have at this time 12 internet connected lights inside and outside of our home that light it up at different intervals, some automatic, some by voice command.  During an alarm event, sure would be nice if they all lit up, inside and out.  You are part of the way there, time to bring it on home. (Pun intended).

Can also detect true heat and gas/CO detectors made by First Alert.  Have tested these successfully.  Finally, we have solution to a problem I brought to your attention some two years ago.  I still don't understand why you can't provide integrated heat detectors?  They are needed for those locations where CO/Smoke detectors would trigger false alarms like wood working workshop, garage, crawl spaces, kitchen, etc.

Can it be set to secret alert so I only get a message on my phone without dispatch if I choose?

I know that SS allows you to do these alerts for various entry sensors and motion detectors.  The Listener device is tuned into alarms set off by CO//Smoke detectors which, if I was to guess, no secret alerts would be allowed because of liability issues.  If a SS protected house is on fire you don't want to give the owner the option of calling the fire department and possibly ignoring a real fire for whatever reason.  If I have a real gas leak in the house I would want the fire department on scene fast.  I wouldn't want to be the one who possibly ignored it and then watch as the house blew up and be totally responsible financially.  I've been after SS to develop integrated sensors like these for over two years.  That's a long time ignoring their customer's need, but I also assume that they were overly cautious about the products they offer because of liability issues especially with professional monitoring in the loop.

Thanks for your speculation but I was hoping for a simple accurate answer.
