False alarm. And the troubles it causes you!

3 to 4 months ago, I emailed you about the problem I have about accidentally setting off my alarm. (I have one of your old alarms now for six years or so). And I suggested to you about a new item you should consider making. And I have not received a reply from you!
It is a unit about the size of a entry sensor. That when my alarm is on, will have a flashing red LED light. That I can add here to my exit at entry ways doors. To remind me to shut off the alarm before I open the door. Because I forgot that I had the alarm on! Because sometimes I do not hear the beeping from the tower when I do open the door when it was on.!  [And the police showed up! Which is very embarrassing!!] So if you make a unit that has a flashing red LED light going, that I could adhere to my exit at entry doorway. To remind me that it is on!!
I personally would purchase four of them right now!!!    And I believe they are lots of other simply safe owners that would purchase them also. This would definitely cut down on false alarms, cut back on your operators workload.!   Which would  increase your profit!! And make a lot of your customers very happy!!
I gratefully, and eagerly wait for your response to my inquiry. Thank you for your cooperation!!

You likely won't get a response from SS on this forum.  They respond some times, but rarely.  If they do it will say exactly this... "We appreciate your feedback and will pass it on to our engineers!"  With that said, I like the idea as well.  Even better would be a modified entry sensor built just for doors so it could do both duties.

One thing that I miss from my ADT system is the flashing red indicator when the alarm was armed.  The keypad was hardwired, so they could do that, as well as a backlit LED display.  This is obviously something that can't be done on a battery powered keypad and it's unfortunate.  I am kind of forgetful and as a result, I have a tendency to recheck things like alarm enabled and doors locked (one of the reasons why I love my SS smartlocks).  I put an extra keypad in my bedroom and it's only purpose is to be able to check whether the alarm is armed before going to bed.

It would be nice to have something else that will indicate if it is on.  My base station is hidden away, so even if I did have the light turned on, I wouldn't be able to see it.

If you cancel the alarm within a minute, either by remote or keypad, no response will be made.  If you don't cancel quick enough COPS will call to verify the alarm BEFORE calling the police.  So, I don't understand how the police showed up at your house if you were home when the alarm went off....didn't you get a call from COPS to verify the alarm??

A flashing light won't do much good in a big house.  Just try and remember when you have an active alarm, or just push the Off button on the remote to verify the system is indeed Off before opening a door, etc.

So what happened to the OP wardrj123 ?  His last statement was " I gratefully, and eagerly wait for your response to my inquiry. Thank you for your cooperation!!"

They rarely come back for a follow up.  It honestly makes me wonder how many of these are even legit.
