Smoke Detector Compatibility

Is the same smoke detector used on the original system and the new system? They look exactly the same.

No, the new system uses encrypted signals and the old system does not, so there is no way for ether smoke detector to communicate with the other system.

Looks don't matter; it's what's inside that counts.  With electronics and for that matter, most things in life.
