Glassbreak Sensor going offline

I have a glass break sensor in my living room and it keeps going off and back on line. It is only about 1 year old. Also the system keeps calling it a motion sensor even though it is listed as a glass break in the system. Please help.

@PRILEY141 ,

Something strange is going on!

At first I thought this might just be interference that is getting in the way of the signal between the Base Station and that Glassbreak Sensor. Since you mention only one sensor having trouble, it could by physical interference - so walls or heavy appliances may be physically blocking the signal, and moving the sensor or the Base Station to a different spot may help.

But the second piece - with the system somehow recognizing it as a Motion Sensor instead - makes me think something else is going on. Could it be possible that you actually have a Motion Sensor attached to your system, that you may have forgotten about?

If your system is connected, you can of course check in the SimpliSafe app. Pull down on the Overview tab, and that will grab the latest info from your system. If there are any components currently offline, you'll see it in a notification right at the top. You'll also see exactly what type of device it is, and where it's located.

It could also help to remove that Glassbreak sensor from the system. If you still get the error warning, then it's probably not actually that sensor having trouble. You can then re-add it back to your system (and this can ensure that the system has it listed as the correct type too!).
