How to Replace Batteries in the Keypad

How do/or can I change my front door keypad from 4 AA batteries to a rechargeable battery pack?

@christfisher The Keypad uses 4 AA Alkaline batteries. We recommend putting standard alkaline batteries in the Keypad (not rechargeable ones) to ensure that the device gets adequate power.

@mmccoy76 If the Keypad is mounted on your wall, push into the Keypad and slide it up to remove its battery cover.

 

But if the Keypad is not wall-mounted, the battery cover should slide right off. There is a small gap between the back of the Keypad and the top of the battery cover - I like to place my fingernail in that space as leverage and then slide the cover right off.
