Best place to put base station and indoor camera
I live in Las Vegas. They police won't come unless they get verification that an intruder is in the house. My nightmare is one of these situations that I've seen videos of, where 3 armed men simply kick in the front door. You have the alarm delay not to mention what if they see the base station and just break the camera and/or base station? It feels like I need to hide it a bit.
I'd want to mount the camera on the wall a bit higher up, but it looks like I'd need to make a custom mount for it. Maybe I'd stick the base station inside a cabinet or on top of a cabinet and obscure it, maybe black out the halo light that makes it so visible for no practical reason. Anyone have these thoughts?

If you would like to bypass the Entry Delay for our sensors, you can enable Instant Trigger for each of them. With Instant Trigger enabled, an alarm will sound right away when a sensor is tripped. You can turn this setting on for any sensor(s) you'd like in the SimpliSafe mobile app by going to My System > Device Settings > select [your sensor] > toggle Instant Trigger on > tap send to base. Then repeat those steps for any other sensor you want to be set to Instant Trigger.
When a sensor is triggered the Base Station also hides itself by turning off its light and not making any sound, but you can also turn off its light indefinitely in the SimpliSafe mobile app. To do this, navigate to My System > Base Station Settings > toggle Base Station Light off > tap Save in the top right corner.
We also don't recommend placing the Base Station in an enclosed space like a cabinet or closet, as that can impact its communication to other SimpliSafe devices. But if you have a cabinet made out of a non-dense material like wood or glass, you could place the Base Station on top of it. The Base Station placement guide in our Help Center will also provide helpful tips on the best locations to put your Base Station.
