Videos being saved

Hi 
Are all recording being saved on the cloud? What if I didnt want them to be saved on an external server and just saved on my laptop for max privacy?

Hi @chaniw, 

All recordings are saved on the cloud for 30 days. After 30 days, they are then automatically removed from our servers. A local storage option is not available, but please know that SimpliSafe believes that privacy and security go hand-in-hand. Recordings are encrypted both in transit and at rest, so only you are able to access them.

@DOMSIANO As Captain11 mentioned, you can download any recordings your SimpliSafe® cameras have filmed and save them to your device. To download a recording:

  1. Open the SimpliSafe® mobile app on your phone or tablet
  2. Select Timeline from the navigation bar on the bottom of the screen
  3. Scroll through the Timeline and find the event whose clip you wish to download

  4. Tap on the event and then tap on the video preview within the event

  5. Tap the three-dot icon next to the recording and then choose Download Video

  6. The clip will be saved to your phone

    1. To access saved videos, go to your phone’s camera roll
