Rotating Doorbell Camera

Hi all - from what I see looking through support here and elsewhere it is not possible to rotate the picture of the doorbell camera (although it can be done on other SimpliSafe cameras and others have been asking for this feature, but I digress...)  Has anyone had luck physically rotating the camera within the unit itself?  Unfortunately the siding on my house makes it impossible to mount the doorbell vertically - thanks all!

Hi @bobholio ,

Unfortunately no, the Video Doorbell Pro is really designed for that one orientation. And I really would not recommend opening up the case to physically rotate the camera array.

It might make more sense for you to opt for a Wireless Outdoor Camera instead. That can still be set up to watch over your doorway, with more freedom in terms of placement (especially because it doesn't need to be wired in!).

I would like to request a software update that would allow users to change the camera orientation in 90 degree increments. I also had to mount my doorbell horizontally and viewing the image 'on its side' is not optimal.

Adding this ability in your software would make your product more user friendly and should not add much effort on your software developers.  Thank you.

I would also like to request a software update to be able to rotate the camera. I do not understand why this is so difficult. This is my second SimpliSafe doorbell and mine is unable to be vertically mounted it is horizontal. You can rotate the other cameras why can you not do this?

Hi @Russandleana ,

That's a great suggestion that would be awesome in our Suggestions section!

Maybe a wedge mount that you can get on Amazon so it angles the doorbell?
