Outdoor Cameras - Not Working When Base Station Loses Power?
Recently I had to temporarily flip off a fuse which was powering my base station.
I noticed that, when the base station is "backup battery" mode and the WI-FI is still connected, that the Outdoor Cameras will not livestream or record properly. This does not seem to be an issue with the SS Doorbell or other cameras which were able to livestream without issue.
If understand correctly, I think the Outdoor Cams communicate with the base station directly in a way that previous cameras did not. So my assumption is that in backup-battery mode, perhaps the base station doesn't support that connection and so livestream fails (perhaps to save power?) Am I correct in this assumption?
I'd tag this as a "bug" either way. Granted, most of the time a loss of power will probably knock out of the WIFI, which would mean the cameras were unusable anyway. HOWEVER, I can envision a scenario where the power to the base station fails somehow, but the WI-FI is still connected. In which case, the Cameras will not livestream.

Hi @Postman77 ,
I'm sending this to our engineering team to look into. Yes, the Outdoor Camera does directly communicate with the Base Station, for different functions such as to facilitate the waking from deep sleep. But that link (which goes through the local RF just like the sensors) doesn't change when the Base Station is in Power Outage mode, so it should be working the same.
