Video doorbell QR not scanning

I tried everything and the QR code would not scan! 3 video doorbells later and multiple hours of holding the QR code at different sizes, lighting etc and the phone tech finally asked tif there was a “;” character in my WiFi password. Taking out the semicolon from the WiFi password did the trick!!! Who knew!!! Just had to reset the password on the base station and other devices too…

Hi @agl52 ,

Unfortunately yes, our older camera models  - the Video Doorbell Pro and the SimpliCam - both use the QR method to tell your camera how to connect to your WiFi, and that method doesn't support characters like the semicolon ; or the backslash \. It's because those characters are part of the code that the camera uses to understand the text.

We do include both as part of our troubleshooting guide here.

I do not have either of those characters in my password, but QR code still won't scan.
