It has been my experience that video doorbells (regardless of brand) require extremely strong wifi signals. I guess exterior doors and walls filter out a lot of the signal, especially so when that tiny device is sending video and audio signals to the access node. Recieving signals from the access node doesn't seem to be as big an issue.
However, I have had to move my Echo mesh node to the outlet directly below the doorbell, on the inside wall and reliability improved considerably.
I suspect you will have similar issues with any brand of video doorbell you try.
