Camera with solid yellow light

Hello,
I recently received a camera and plugged it in for installation.  The light is a solid yellow indicating it's rebooting and updating software.  I've left it plugged in for a couple days and the light hasn't changed.  The manual says it should take a few minutes.  Can anyone give some advice?
Thanks!

Same issue here.

Maybe that is why they are giving the cameras away when you order a system of any cost.

Just got ours on the 4th of July.

First setup one camera worked fine.  One did not.  Now on my third replacement and yellow light stays on.  This is a major problem and apparently SS has no clue how to fix.  Patience is running thin.

Steady Yellow-Green Light.

Camera arrived from SimpliSafe and DID NOT connect after I tried for a few hours.

Steady yellow-green (more like GREEN) light even after calling Technical Support.

It's now July 8th:

Apparently this problem has been going on for some time.

Tech Support was great and stated some cameras were defective from the start. They are shipping out a replacement camera.

Same issue here steady yellow light. Tech Support no help. Are there other cameras that work with this system?

No, only SS cameras work with the SS systems.

Keeping this thread alive.  I have two cameras, both do this.  They work for a few minutes after power-on, then go offline with the yellow light.

SimpliSafe told me the solid yellow light is a firmware update that's happening, but it must be a bad update because it stalls every time.

The cameras are expensive and worthless at this point.

Just tried setting up my camera today and it is stuck on solid yellow.  Been several hours and still on yellow.  I have changed wifi network and reset the device...no good.  Guess it is time to ask for a replacement?  (oh and waiting for customer service is useless because you wait for 20-30min, get disconnected only to be told to follow the manual?)  I have been doing tech support for more years than many of these agents were probably alive yet they act like I don't know how to follow instructions?  I mean come on...

**Update** I was able to get in touch with SS Customer service and they said that there was a batch of bad cameras that needs to be replaced.  They immediately sent me a replacement which got to my place in 2 days.  Hooked it up and it immediately updated and started to work within 5 min (total setup time).  Once you get through to the right person and tell them about the always on yellow light they have no problems replacing it.

Same issue here, constant yellow light. Simplisafe says I've had my camera too long, I never got it working, but never thought to check this site. Seeing all these other cameras with the exact same issue clearly means there is a quality issue with the cameras, and Simplisafe should stand behind them, that's the difference between a good company, and a bad one.

The SS camera has 3 year warranty. Are you saying you've had the camera more than three years and just now you're reporting it doesn't work?

Even if you mean you're past the 60-days no questions return period, SS is obligated to stand behind the warranty so that you have a generally functional camera (unless maybe there is more to your story?).

Honestly I don't know when I ordered it, I moved here in November of 2017 so it was after that...yeah, I got the rest of the system working, and just forgot about the camera, then neighbors have taken to parking very close to my driveway, and I thought it'd be nice to have the camera, and began to play with it again. So, there's really not more to the "story" funny how people love to assume the worst about anyone these days.

Same problem here.

We attempted to setup our camera, and after filling in the wifi data, we tried resetting the camera numerous times but the light remained yellow.  Called Simplisafe, and i'm working with Tech Support now to get a replacement sent out.

Same problem here. Just got new cameras. They can actually work if placed within a few feet of my router but as soon as you introduce a wall or floor, no connection. Just the solid yellow. I guess I'll call too when I have a spare 44 minutes to be on hold.

Hi. Solid yellow means that your camera is getting stuck trying to reboot. The best solution is a replacement. Give our Support team a call at 800-548-9508 and we'll take care of it.

@timciulla have you already tried moving your cameras closer to your WiFi router? They may be having trouble downloading the firmware, and that might help.
