Timeline

Hello. I'm a long time adt user. I decided to switch to SimpliSafe because Adt rates were outrageous. In the adt app you could see a log of all trips on sensors. Such as when doors and windows were opened and closed. I see the SimpliSafe app has a "timeline' but it is blank. I don't have activity selected in push notifications because I don't want a notification sent every time. But the timeline is helpful for things like seeing when the dogs were out last, etc. Is there anyway to get a list like this in the SimpliSafe app? Thanks in advance.

The Timeline of Events won't show door/windows opening unless the system is armed, in which case it will show which sensor triggered an alarm.  So, you wouldn't get a push notification every time a door or window opened when the system is in OFF mode, for example.  Also, if you have interactive monitoring, and chose the "secret alert" option for one or more sensors, you'd receive push alerts for those as well. ("secret alert" does not create an alarm, monitoring won't call, and no dispatch will be sent).

I appreciate the help on that. I will try the secret alert. I guess that is as close I can get to the adt feature. But that is definitely a feature I am going to miss.

Secret alert will show in timeline.  You can set it for secret alert when off, but alarm in either home or away or both.

Apparently it will, with SS3, if you set the sensor(s) to Alert Only (aka secret alert) when in Off mode. Dunno if it the base will ding (seems anti-secret) but you will get a push notice if you have the interactive monitoring plan.

I have set an entry sensor on a closet door, I want to know if anyone opens the closet door and if they do to send a silent alert.  This works as desired.  I also have my system set to chime to know when someone opens the entry doors which I understand by default chimes when ANY entry sensor is opened.  Unfortunately this includes any entry sensor that is set for SILENT ALERT.
Is there anyway to prevent the sensor set for silent alert from chiming?  This makes what is intended to be a silent alert not so silent.

Video Timelines

Is there a way to delete video's from the timeline?

No, videos are automatically deleted after 30 days

If I choose the self monitoring (decline to pay a monthly fee for monitoring) can I still see video recordings from last 7 days in app timeline? I don’t want to pay monthly but I still want to see recordings if possible.

@adamt6 Hi there,

With self-monitoring you will be able to monitor your video recordings for the last 7 days in the app timeline. You can see what is included with each plan in this Help Center article.
