Sirens went off - no reason, and no log!

This morning at 2am CT, our base station siren and our secondary siren that we keep in the bedroom, both sounded their alarms. They woke us up, and went off for about 10 seconds as we were scrambling to our feet. Then, they went silent. We did not put in the code, or get a text or call, or anything.

I checked the app, and there was NO indication that anything at all had happened. The base station was blue. The screenshot shows It was armed in home mode when this happened, and that there had been no activity since it was armed at 1am an hour before. After the sirens went off, when we opened the door at 2:01 to look outside, it tripped the sensor and it beeped as expected, and we input our code to deactivate, then we rearmed in home mode shortly after. The outdoor camera also saw us come outside. All of that registered completely normally 1 minute after the sirens, but 1 minute before, when the sirens went off, there was no log of it.

Part of me thinks that since this happened at exactly 2am, it was some kind of system fluke? I cant think of any other reason.

To recap:

Both our sirens went off at 2am (the full loud alarm - we've accidentally tripped it before so we know how it sounds)

They turned off on their own - no code input, no text, no call. Blue base station.

There was no indication in the app that our alarms went off

Everything else we did right after that appeared in the app just fine.

If this was a fluke or a bug, I just want it resolved. I hate knowing that this can happen and scare the daylights out of us while we're sleeping, and that we cant even prove that it did. I found one other post about something like this happening in April, so its happened to at least one other person. Any ideas as to what this could have been?

Hi @molsen,

I'm happy to know that this wasn't a true alarm event and everyone is okay, but this is certainly still a frightening situation and something that we absolutely don't want to have happen again!

I have forwarded your case details over to our dev team to investigate so they can get to the bottom of what happened. A member of the team should contact you soon, so please keep an ear out for their call.

@kellyc2021 apologies im 11 months late to this, but for anyone reading this thread after the fact someone did reach out via phone to collect information. I was never given an explanation but it also thankfully never happened again.

Just happened twice this morning.

We also had this happen to us yesterday.  Alarm went off with no reason, I turned it off at the PIN pad, then it went off again (while the system was not armed!).

Calling SimpliSafe provided no resolution at all.  We got pushed around to 3 different people and the best they could do is offer us 2mo free service (what a joke).

Additionally, I received no calls from SimpliSafe to confirm everything was ok.  Not surprised since the logs don't show the alarm being triggered.

Clearly SimpliSafe has an issue with their hardware, software, or firmware and are doing nothing about it.  This thread started over a year ago, and folks like me (and our families) are still having these issues.  Not acceptable.

Same thing here. 2 am as well. I did enter disarmament 3 or 4 times but that did nothing. Please help. Most frightening!

This just happened to us at 3:45 AM this morning.  The alarm was set to "home" and went off without being triggered by any devices.  There is no log on the keypads or on our phones and Simplisafe monitoring did not call to check on us.  This is the first time in 6 years or so that we have this happen.

I have this same system at three different locations and I really hope that was just very random and will not happen again.  If it does, I will begin the process of finding a replacement for each location.

We just had this happen to us at 3:45 AM this morning.  Our alarm was set to "Home" and went off without being triggered by any devices.  I turned the alarm off on one of our keypads and quickly realized that there is no log of any of the activity on the keypads or our phones.  In addition, Simplisafe monitoring did not call to check on us.

I've had Simplisafe for 6-7 years and have never experienced anything like this.  I have this same system installed at three different locations and if this happens again, I will begin looking for alternative solutions.  Have the alarm go off at random without any logged activity is totally unacceptable.
