Modifying Entry Sensor to work with wired Switch

Sounds similar to the older style switch. But, there really isn't a need to fully remove the reed switch as long as the leads are exposed like on the older ones. You can just solder the wires to the leads of the reed switch if that's the case.

I wouldn't recommend leaving the reed switch in place. The sensor could be defeated with a magnet if the reed switch is not removed.

That's the case with any of them. In the case of remote wired I'd expect it would be mounted in an even less vulnerable spot than the sensors are normally mounted...unless it's an inside job but then you're screwed anyway.

Any chance you took some pictures to help the rest of us?

How did you remove the board from the case? Are the two corner solders holding it down?
