Modifying Entry Sensor to work with wired Switch
Hey everyone, I have been looking for an answer to my question for about a week now and could not find an answer. I just purchased a brand new Simplisasfe system (that I love). However I have a door because of the way it is cased in will not work with the magnetic sensor. This door previously had a wired sensor attached to it. There was information on the older systems that explained how to hook a wired switch, but nothing on the newer sensors. So I decided to try it. What's the worst that could happen, I lose a $15 sensor. I happy to say that it worked! Just had to un-solder the reed switch from the board, place the leads from the physical switch in it's place and reassemble. Worked like a champ.
I will say if you are not familiar with a soldering iron or the proper use there of I would consult someone that is. It's simple through hole soldering but you definitely don't want to ruin yor board.

Any chance you took some pictures to help the rest of us?
How did you remove the board from the case? Are the two corner solders holding it down?
