Reaching out for help

Hey everyone,

I am reaching to see how anyone can support me with my experience with Simplisafe. First the positives: the system and setup is increadibly easy to use. I have been very happy with ease of use and affordability of the system and program. The negatives: the system is incredibly sensitive. I've had multiple false alarm bills due to wind or someone walking by my window and setting off my motion detector. The support: a few months ago as I turned my alarm off I accidently entered the panic number. Stupid mistake that I thought I immediately fixed. I callled Simplisafe support and was told that because I entered my non-panic code quickly, it alarm was cancelled. Well 5 minutes later I have the cops at my door. I am happy the system works and that LAPD showed up quickly, but upset that I was misinformed by customer service. I called back and after getting the run around I was about to speak to Kurt, a supervisor at Simplisafe. He was very helpful at firat and said that once I got my alarm bill to contact him so they could help me out. I reached out and while he responded to get my info, I have not heard back.

In summary, I want follow through with the support I was promised and ensure that others are not misinformed about making an accident with their system. I am a very happy customer, but this experience has disappointed me. I hope someone is able to provide help. Thank you.

@invis21, I am going to provide you feedback that I have given myself. I am saying that up front because you are not going to like what I am now going to say:  Although Forest Gump said "you can't fix stupid" if you can learn from your mistakes you are wiser in the long run.  You, and I, were stupid with our alarm systems.

First me. Just got my SS2 system and, after about 5 months, had to change the batteries in the keypad.  Flipped it over on a kitchen towel on the island and proceeded to take the batteries out and put new ones in.  After I was done and had just put the keypad back on the wall, my neighbor rang the front door and I answered it. " He asked me to come out front and wanted to show me some damage at the mailbox.  I said okay and walked out with him. Halfway down the driveway he asked me if my wife and I were okay, said yes, and he said "All clear".  Out come a plainclothes detective from the side of the house and two patrol cars came around the corner.  Yes, I had pressed the panic button, set to silent.  Why did it happen? I was stupid.

Sorry, invis21, but you were stupid entering your duress code. No call, COPS monitoring just dispatches, like they should. And, no, you don't call Simplisafe to cancel a dispatch, as you don't call COPS for technical support.

I suggest you call SS back, ask for a supervisor or manager and clear up any questions you may have on operating procedures. As far as the SS2 motions, they are sensitive but with proper placement should be fine. I had 9 for years and after much testing, they were very stable. SS3's are much better.

Good luck.
