Error Message, no input, no explanation

(Categorized under ‘Testimonials and Feedback: Testimonials’ because there is no sub-category for feedback/bug report or similar form anywhere on the website or app so I guess I’m putting a feedback here)

Two or three times now while I had the app open (not doing anything it was just still open from whatever I had done prior) I have received an error message that says, and this might not be verbatim, but it’s very close: “We encountered an error, Please contact customer service”. 

What am I supposed to tell customer service? I got an error message that wanted me to call them, but it didn’t tell me what the error was, there’s no error code, I wasn’t trying to do anything, and nothing seems to be wrong at all?

Perhaps consider changing this error message to at least include what caused the error, or an error code, or anything at all that might make it useful to anyone.

My customer service experience with SimpliSafe, in the very short time I’ve been a customer, has already made me avoid contacting customer service if at all possible, and I’m certainly not calling over something that Is guaranteed to lead to a frustrating and pointless conversation with them.
