"Wireless Interference Detected" voice prompt from SS system.

For the last couple of weeks my SimpliSafe system has started alerting me via the voice system stating "wireless interference detected". I've had the system for a few months and I've never experienced this issue before. I contacted support via the technical support hotline and I was told to move my base station closer to my wifi router (AT&T Internet provider). The base station is already in the same room as the router (maybe 3-4 feet in distance between the two) so the tech support person said it should be near a window (it's about 2 feet from the window). When I asked if there is a way to assess what might be causing the interference I was told he would need to talk to a supervisor and put me on hold. After waiting nearly 10 minutes on hold I hung up. Does anyone have any suggestions? It's quite annoying and unnerving hearing a loud voice at 4AM saying "Wireless interference detected". We have not added any new wireless devices in our household and I had no problems in the first few months of having the system. Why would this start happening now? Any suggestions?

The "Wireless Interference Detected" message refers specifically to interference for the local wireless, i.e. between the Base Station and the Sensors, which uses a much lower frequency. Those devices that you mentioned should not interfere with your SimpliSafe system!

Overall, we are pleased; but ... the system has been working fine for our small business for the six months we've had it -- that is, other than this very annoying "Wireless Interference Detected" alert that started a few weeks ago. It goes off every time we deactivate the system upon opening the office, and randomly / unpredictably throughout the work day. Sometimes days or even a couple weeks pass with no alert throughout the day, and at other times there can suddenly be several alerts just minutes apart. I'd like to see resolution of this issue before I recommend the system to any more of our family, friends, clients, and associates.

That's an intermittent interference issue between the base and the sensors. It's specific to your location.
IE: if I brought my system to your location and set it up in exactly the same way, it would react the same.
There's something at the location that is causing it, and generally speaking isn't always there. I would suggest perhaps trying to find the cause. Because it's not the system.

I just got this "Wireless Interference Detected" voice prompt for the first time. I happened to hear my neighbor using their key-fob to lock their car (I heard the beep) so the interference might be coming from sources like car key fobs, garage door openers and the like. If so, there's no way to solve this issue without surrounding your home with a metal Faraday cage...and that isn't really practical. So just call and get it turned off.

Had similar issue with new system I installed in my business.  The tech I called was able to lower sensitivity and seems to be okay now.  Really was annoying because it wouldn't shut up.

After a few years owning SS2 & 3 had first "Wireless Interference Detected" on keypad. This showed up on Monday morning. On Saturday morning when system was off Simplisafe indoor camera came on and recorded detected motion. System was in  OFF mode my cameras privacy shutter in OFF mode is set to closed it should not have detected motion and activated. Wondering if this is the actual time of interference but wasn't displayed on keypad till Monday morning. No indication of interference was present on timeline.
Maybe this will help someone: I recently replaced my wi-fi extenders with a new AT&T AirTies 4920 Smart Wi-Fi Extender. This extender uses the same network name as the wi-fi gateway. My SimpliSafe base station was connected using the old extender name. I changed the base station network to match the gateway/extender name and the Wireless Interference Detected notice went away. Bottom line is make sure the proper network name is used. FYI Remote lighting dimmers/ceiling fan speed controls also cause this notice. I don't think I can do much about the latter :)

@steve.adkins_2, great little nugget of helpful information in your post. Thanks for putting it up; Simplisafe, do you think, possibly, if you are not going to release a new, practical, useful CRC you can at least update the current customer "help" center with information like this, as it will be hopelessly be buried in the forums within days, if not in hours?!

having same problem of Wireless Interference Detected. had 0 issues since we installed almost a year ago.  nothing new added to house and no changes to locations of wireless router or devices. now for the past week we are getting the voice prompt.  It is annoying but more importantly causing concern from my family about the systems reliability.  All sensors show up as connected and base station signal is strong.  what changed?
** Problem Solved  **

I had the same problem with constantly getting the "Wireless Interference Detected" every time I deactivated my system. It didn't make sense since I hadn't added any new wireless devices. I tried shutting down every wireless device in my house and still got the message.

Today, I reset the base station by unplugging it, removing the Phillips screw from the bottom, and removing the batteries. I left the batteries out for an hour and then replaced them with new Duracells. When I put the base station back online, no more message.

^  Just checking, you replaced them with rechargeable batteries, yes?  (don't use regular batteries in the base station).

I just started having the same problem last night. I went and bought new rechargeable batteries per advice above. It did NOT solve my problem... still getting the same warning. I have not changed anything in my wireless network.

Similar problem here, just started July 18th. When disarming the alarm we are now getting the "wireless interference detected" notice too - we haven't added or changed anything recently.
I started to have the same issue after 7/4/2019, when for some reason my camera it was disabled all day.
I have records of arming system on 7/3 at 22.58 with visual recording from the camera and then only on 7/5 at 6.10 I would have another visual of the camera.
I have disarmed the system on 7/4 at 6.26 and camera shows unavailable and armed again on 7/4 23.35 camera unavailable.
We have no camera activity at all on 7/4 and someone has violated my husband car, took some work tools and we have nothing that can lead us to the person. I have called SimpliSafe CS and unfortunately they are not able to do anything, they said that their systems is protected and cannot  be hacked, but I think it is a lot of coincidence that a person would know my door bell camera is not working. This is very sad and SimpliSafe need to be aware and take really good look, because someone is out there knowing how to desactivate your system and able to do whatever they want and their face will not be shown.
After this day I started to have the annoying voice messages "Wireless Interference Detected".
They have sent me a wireless extender when my house is so small a ranch about 1,100 Sq feet. Let see if it will work. I also reset the base station hoping that will stop the message.

Did you get your wireless extender yet? Does it still give you that msg? I'm too getting that msg on and off.

Thanks,

Some feedback I could give to the company would be to make this feature a bit more transparent: give us a way to optimize placement of the base station with something more interactive than this alarm (like, just display the signal strength from the base station's perspective in the app or give us a timeline of the signal strength so we can get a better idea of what is causing the problem).

Given how this feature is treated from the Simplisafe end, I doubt this is a popular idea but maybe just give us the option of disabling it ourselves? Add however many disclaimers on top of that as you want, or even make us call in to technical support to disable it but don't pretend it's "not possible" (this is what CS has told me on the phone, despite stories I see above); it would be a great option that I'm sure would save everyone a lot of time on both ends.

I'm sure this feature worked great in the test vacuum but in a real house in a real neighborhood where not everything is designed around optimizing the base station's signal, it is apparent it needs to be reworked in some form or another.
