Video doorbell install

I am attempting to install the video doorbell., specifically, the chime connector. My home doesn’t have a traditional chime. The doorbell rings though an intercom system. This is from the early 90s. Do I attach the chime connector to where the sound comes out of (it’s a control panel in the kitchen)?  Or at the doorbell which includes a speaker in addition to the button?

@mattjmoore Suggest you do yourself a favor and just pick up the phone. Yeah, I know, 1990's ish but it matches your intercom system! Support is usually pretty good and if they say they can't help, ask to be escalated to a specialist.

Please post your outcome here if you get a chance. Happy holidays to you and your family.

Hey @mattjmoore! Without knowing the specific make and model of the chime it's going to be guess work, but here is the detailed guide on how to install it.

Cap's advice on calling in isn't bad either. The Video Doorbell is arguably the trickiest thing to install due to the fact that it's the only hardwired component in the system and requires knowing a couple of things. In regards to the Chime, it's imperative that it is a mechanical chime and not a digital chime (if it's connected to an intercom, there is a possibility that is the case, but again, it's a guess) or it will not work properly.
