Simplisafe not connecting to wifi after update

I hope someone can help me...  I've had my Simplisafe for two years and never had an issue with it before.  Three days ago I had to change my wifi password because of our some security concerns, and now I cannot get my Simplisafe to reconnect to the wifi.  All my other wifi devices work, but Simplisafe does not recognize the wifi.  So far I have tried...

1. Reloading my router

2. Unplugging the base station and removing batteries

Any other ideas would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

Guess what? This HAS to be a failure caused by the last update. Mine is doing the same thing and support can’t figure it out. Been troubleshooting for almost 3 hours now.

Hi @mfadams04 ,

So from what I understand, you only changed the WiFi password, but all other settings and the router itself are still the same?

As @dlpsr says, it would help to know what method you're using to change the password. For this particular task, I would recommend using your Keypad:

  1. Press the Menu button
  2. Type in your Master PIN
  3. Scroll and select System Settings
  4. Select WiFi > Edit
  5. Select Forget Network
  6. You'll be taken back to the System Settings screen. Select WiFi > Edit again
  7. Your Keypad will search for nearby WiFi networks. Find the correct one and hit Use
  8. Use the number keys to type in the password (e.g. press "2" twice to get a lowercase "a", and five times to get an Uppercase "A". The current character you are typing will be highlighted). WiFi passwords are Case Sensitive, so it's important that you type it in exactly.
  9. Hit OK.
  10. You'll see "Connected to [your WiFI]" once the process is successful.

Keep in mind that unfortunately, the Base Station is not able to support WiFi passwords longer than 31 characters. But if you hit any error message, let me know and we can continue troubleshooting.

This didn’t work for me. SimpliSafe support had me do the same thing and base station still not functioning correctly. Bad system update.

@Andyjschreiber this user seems to be describing an issue with trying to reconnect WiFi after they updated their password, and not their SimpliSafe system. But I do see your other reply in this post, which might be closer to the issue you're having. We can continue troubleshooting there.

Having the same issue here.  Base station simply will not connect to my 2.4 GHz wifi, despite very fix and workaround that SS has suggested.  The current firmware that SS has out has a bug, it will not connect with more modern day routers, period.

@Jim There are a few other troubleshooting steps we can take to get your system up and running properly. And we might even need to replace your Base Station completely. If you reach out to our Support team, they will be able to help you with this.

Try deleting them from your list of devices then re add them. This cures several. Bad behaviors

@Jim You shouldn't have to babysit a security system.  It should just work.   If it doesn't then move on to one that does, or build your own.   Not worth having to jump through all of the SS hoops to make this thing work.
