Connecting two outdoor power cables for Series 2 camera, in order to enable Active Guard

One of my cameras will require 2 x 25ft outdoor power cables connected to each other, then to my outdoor outlet. In order to do so I will need a USB-A/3.0 to USB micro connector piece. I'm assuming I can easily find this online. Will use of such a connector piece affect eligibility for Active Guard?

Related, for my other outdoor camera, if I use generic extension cords to connect the adapter of the SimpliSafe outdoor power cable to my garage outlet, will I similarly remain eligible for Active Guard?

Anything else I should know to make these setups work? Thx!

Hey @guptar86 hope you've been well! An extension cord isn't a bad option for your home if necessary to get the proper reach, but it's important to use the included power cable because that piece creates the seal necessary to keep the Outdoor Camera Series 2 weather proof. Any other cable without the proper fitting is liable to cause the camera to malfunction.

@SimpliSafe_Jordan thank you. In the end we're having an electrician install new power outlets so that we can get away with just the included 16ft power cables!
