Base station reset required after power outage
Recently left for a 16 day trip. One day out our house briefly lost power. When the power returned our Simplisafe system restarted. But it could not re-establish a connect with Simplisafe monitoring. I called and was told i need to physically reset my base station. Question: If this true? Seems like a bad solution to provide a system that cannot fully reset itself after a power outage. Why pay for service that Simplisafe cannot provide.

Hey @Mike sorry that this disrupted your trip. How is the system now? If it's showing back online my recommendation would be to reach back out to see if there was an issue with the cellular network component. Often the Wi-Fi goes out when a power outage happens, but the Cellular Backup allows our agents to continue monitoring and troubleshooting the system.
In regards to a payment I would certainly mention that aspect as well. They will only charge you for active service so this is a valid case.

To be clear -
1) Leave home on a vacation
2) Power goes out
2) I have no idea if celllular connection is working.
3) Power comes back say five minutes later
4) Simplisafe system works as I can manage all functions via phone; except
5) Simplisafe does not connect for daily 'automatic test signal' until I get back home and can phsically reset the base station. In other words Simplisafe will not receive alarms and dispatch police while i am still on vacation.
