Yes, the Base Station has rechargeable batteries, which take over if the main power is disconnected - e.g. during a power outage, or if the Base Station is purposely unplugged.
So the whole system can keep functioning even without power.

@RobKoz The batteries in the Base Station are Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries. Regular alkaline batteries should never be inserted into the Base Station as they may damage the device. If you need replacement batteries, reach out to our support team and they'll be able to get some shipped out to you right away.
