Base speaker extender
We have our base station in our kitchen on the other side of our home. At night, if a sensor were to trip or the base were to announce that a door had been opened, I'd love to be notified of that or be able to hear that announcement audibly before it trips the entire system. I have young kids, and so sometimes during the day, they'll get to the garage door or front door, and I'd love to hear from other parts of the home if an entry has been opened. Especially at night if I'm not expecting entries to be opened, I'd love to have an advance warning before my alarm goes off. I want the 30 second buffer during the day, but at night, I want immediate notification before the alarm does trigger. In an emergency situation, every second counts to prepare. Does anyone have suggestions or insight? Could SimpliSafe create a 'speaker' product that just relays those announcements to other parts of the home, similar to the CO listener? Maybe create a 'Night' mode?

@tcard93 Did you ever try to go "silent and dark" with your system? Yes, I know after watching the old SS commercials and SimpliSafe's marketing efforts to promote the base's lights that have different colors and patterns, I am firmly in the camp of no light , no sound and hidden somewhere in my house an intruder wouldn't normally look. (and definitely not in my kitchen). Why? The current system has a potential weak spot or vulnerability: If its smashed/destroyed before that countdown, you are SOL: no alarm signal, no siren, no dispatch. Period.
Likely? Don't know but I don't chance it. Hidden base, quiet and no lights. And ALL intrusion sensors on "instant trigger" except for the one door we go in and out of. And 0/0 entry and exit values in home mode. You may ask how I know what is going on? Push alerts from the app to my phone and are set to override my do not disturb settings on my Android phone.
This works great for my wife and I, however, may not work for you, partially or completely. I suggest you look closely on what is configurable with your system and make the best choices for you and your family, however, I do suggest you get that base out of your kitchen if it is in plain view. Also, SS support can provide assistance in configuration mdeling.
And, SS, another great topic for a live webinar here in the community.
