Outdoor Camera Battery Improving

As previously posted, I have two outdoor cameras, one in the front of the house powered by the AC adapter and, up to now, another outdoor camera mounted in the back of the house powered on battery. After 1 month, the battery is at 34% (per the online device dashboard).  While that may not look impressive at first glance, I have to note that about 40% was used quickly in the first week and before the firmware update was released and installed.  My guess is that with the improved firmware the battery would go at least 2-3 months, however, with a balmy 31 last night and much more colder temps coming, I am installing my 2nd AC adapter later this afternoon so will not be able to provide future updates on the battery performance in the outdoor cams.

Motion detection with the front camera's spotlight option on has been very good at night and daytime continues as expected. Will also be testing out the sirens for the first time later this week.

Update:  Backyard camera is now on AC adapter, so bring on those Chicagoland winters!!! No battery to worry about. Solar panel might have been an option but nothing like good old AC. Now have both units with spotlights turned on so I know exactly when they are recording at night.  Grilling some steaks tonight on the back patio, the outdoor camera was producing some very nice shots, including my singing "Crazy On You".  Can't vouch for what my neighbors are thinkng but the Mrs told me to hurry up and get over the outdoor camera settings so peace and quiet will return to our cul-de-sac.

@cmc Brrrrr!  Iowa is as cold as northern Illinois!.  Please post your experience with the solar panel as you have used it for a while. Curious to see how it performs.  If built like the AC adapter, you should be good to go. Have a good (and warm) weekend.

What happens with the outdoor camera if it goes off line because of low temps. D you need to be physically onsite to reinstall or does it just come back online? Thanks.

My outdoor cameras were subjected to temperatures below -20 and performed quite nicely but I should note they were both on AC adapters.

The top face of the camera unscrews counterclockwise and drops in the center of the camera lower housing.  I do recommend the AC adapter or the solar panel.  If you have questions or need assistance, contact support.
