New SimpliSafe outdoor camera hits FCC!!

Thank you for the link, Captain. While I usually wait before purchasing products introduced to the market, I would buy the outdoor camera on the first day of availability. While it does its job without my interaction, Deep Sentinel has had too many changes to plans and pricing (the requirement change to minimum upload speed was a significant problem). It makes me fear the company will one day no longer be open for business.

I have no SimpliSafe cameras as I prefer mine to be independent of the system, but this is a must-have for the alarm to me. In conjunction with my outdoor and indoor cameras, I could rid myself of the other company's yearly cost.

And interesting development.  Removable battery too.  I wonder when it will actually hit their offering.

I'll speculate the cost will be between $150 and $200  (149.99 to 199.99 because "marketing").  Any more than that and they won't sell very well.  Less than they and they will sell like hotcakes.

Every battery powered camera I've ever bought has been returned to the store within a week.  I wish for an option to have it plugged in.  I got external outlets installed for some horrible Arlo cameras.  I'd love to replace them.

Even better might be a solar option.

Of course, if you are electrically skilled, you could MAKE an AC (or solar) adapter

This lesson is so well known and so often demonstrated, it's mind-boggling how often the mistake is repeated.  It's almost like the business schools are pranking the MBA students by teaching it wrong just to see how many of them are gullible enough to fall for it.

It's nice if SS has learned the right way. :-)
