Doorbell humming

Installed the door bell last night purchased from Best Buy. Comes with the different face plate colors mint green/black/white. Setup was easy and fast. Just a FYI when using the bar code to connect the phone to wifi just move it around it will eventually connect. I replaced my Ring (cheapest one) I have had for about 5 years. The response time for the notification on the iOS app is blazing fast is awesome. One issue I am noticing though is that my inside door bell chime (electronic) is now making a slight low sounding humming noise. Any thought? Could the wires be touching? Thanks.

Right now I am in "Simplisafe hell". For four months my video doorbell worked flawlessly with my old wired NuTone chime. Then last Saturday, the hum started, I disconnected the chime and video unit. Monday a tech told me about the "potential fix" = chime connector. Sent out regular mail, received Thursday.  Hooked it up Friday to a working chime and about 20 minutes later - HOT Connector, HOT Bell Transformer. No circuit. Simplisafe burned out my transformer. Called Technical support.

"Tech support" arranged to send me a new doorbell camera. When I protested that my transformer was destroyed, the person asked me - twice - to explain why a bell transformer is needed for this application. I was patient and explained it - twice. Eventually I was offered some monitoring for my loss. Not what I wanted to hear. I was hoping to get a very specific analysis of what had burned out my transformer, but that didn't happen.

I bought a 30amp special transformer that others have recommended and a $5 bell button at a big box store. After wiring in the new transformer, I tried the video doorbell again. HUMMMMMM. So now I'm waiting for the next video doorbell to come and have a $5 piece of garbage hanging loosely at my door for a button. But unlike Simplisafe's video doorbell, at least it works.

Lesson learned - IF YOU INSTALL THE "CHIME CONNECTOR" FEEL IT EVERY FEW MINUTES TO SEE IF IT HEATS UP.  I wish I had known about this problem when I was selecting a system. Disappointed!

@KilgoreTrout53 I'm really sorry to hear about your experience. Our Support team is prepared for product related issues, including troubleshooting replacements. But they are not trained to handle issues that are best handled by an electrician.

The Chime Connector is intended for sending the correct voltage to your Video Doorbell Pro. But it only works if you're installing on a compatible wired doorbell system - namely, the analog mechanical type. From feedback right here in the Community, I know that we've had a lot of compatibility issues with "NuTone" doorbells. So it's interesting that yours even worked at all, let alone for four months. I'm glad that we already have a replacement Video Doorbell on the way, but I'm not sure that it will function properly (at least for long) with the same wired setup.

If you like, I can put you in touch with a Specialist, who can help with investigating. But the solution here might be to install a different analog wired doorbell.

I cannot get past the humming issue.  Tried the chime connector from SS with no resolution.  Have been on the phone with SS, they are of no help.  Had an electrician here today, switched out the transformer, still no resolution.  This product is really disappointing.

@switte29 sorry to hear you're still having trouble even after taking those steps. Let's rewind a bit - do you know if you have a digital doorbell? Or perhaps the "NuTone" type, with the multiple tones. The Video Doorbell Pro at this time is compatible with only the mechanical/analog type.
