Doorbell camera not automatically switching to night vision
For some reason my doorbell camera will not automatically switch to night vision. I can manually make the switch, but the auto function does not seem to work anymore.

Unfortunately we don't have as much of an update so far. We know it's an issue with how the camera detects light levels, and how certain light sources in the scene can interfere with that. That's why this issue doesn't affect everyone, and it's very difficult to replicate.
We'll let you know when we have more solid info in the future.

Why not have it on a timer than? The constant reminder to turn it on and off every morning is really annoying. I'd be fine with a a 5am - 5pm Night Vision Off ; 5pm - 5am night vision on. It is still an issue and prevents us from seeing movement at night if the Night Vision is off, because the day vision does not detect human movement(s) at night.

I know Dave Ramsey endorses this product, but I wonder if he knows what trouble we are all experiencing with this product with no resolution. I chose this system because of that endorsement. Think I'll fill them in on it.

I'm having the same issue in August 2022. At night there's absolutely no light at my front door and it's pitch black. Still no auto night vision switch.

i also have this issue with all 3 of my outdoor cameras. each camera points in an entirely different direction. brand new, just set them up, running the latest software updates. i have other cameras from other brands. no other camera gets confused like this. really disappointed. how is this not resolved if you guys have been aware of it for 2+ years??
ok, actually... upon closer examination, it seems like it's mostly my garage camera. my back yard camera does it for a few hours each evening only. and the patio camera appears to be immune to the problem.
the garage camera that is experiencing the worst issues has a streetlight in its field of view about 500 feet away, and that seems to be the problem. that streetlight does nothing to illuminate the sidewalk i'm trying to monitor, but it seems to be messing with the nightvision.
the back yard camera that is experiencing problems a few hours each evening seems to be impacted by some patio lights at the very top edge of frame that are on until 9pm. once those lights are off, it seems to default to night vision as it should. i'm just amazed because the patio lights are at the extreme top edge of frame and do not emit enough light to illuminate anything.
the patio camera has a bright light on the left side of frame (the patio sconce), but it somehow ignores it completely and switches to night vision as it should. weird.
