Cameras

Regarding the new outside cameras, I find it aggravating that the motion sensor captures everything even when it is set to "low." I originally only wanted the activate the camera at night but the camera cannot be shut-down without going thru a number of steps on my mobile app, and leaving it on generates many notifications no matter what I do with the settings.

Regarding the outside doorbell camera pro, we attempted to install this device twice and when it would not work (no power) we contacted your approved contractor Go-Tech and paid them an additional fee to come out to help us. Go Tech said the camera was generating too much power to our bell chime and we needed a separate device to step down the power. They did not carry such a device and we would need to buy that separately. What a hassle, we will return both cameras to SimpliSafe and ask for a refund.

Very unhappy.

Hi jonmue,

So sorry to hear about your camera issues.

Unfortunately yes, there's currently no easy way to turn your Outdoor Camera off and on. But you should at least be able to select whether you want it to trigger for People Only, vs triggering for everything. We do have an important update that might help with some of what you're experiencing. But in the meantime, we suggest a firmware reset by holding the button in the back for 16 seconds. When you release, it should reboot into original settings, and you can set up through the SimpliSafe app again.

Regarding your Video Doorbell Pro, it sounds like you're looking for the Chime Connector, which we can send to you for free. Give us a call at 800-548-9508 and we can take care of it.
