Camera power cord

Does the battery have to be in when using the Power cord adapter for the outdoor camera?

Hi @michael_alday ,

Yes, the Outdoor Camera does use the battery for primary power. The Power Adapter just keeps the unit charged.

Hello, what is the output volts/wattage of the adaptor in the Simplisafe power cord?

Hi @cap_av,

The output is 5V 1.5A.

Can one SimpliSafe outdoor power supply power two cameras that are close together? It seems like a waste to run two 25-foot cables when the cameras are only 1 foot apart. Can a cable splitter be used to power both cameras?

I want to purchase power cords for multiple outdoor camera's. The camera's were installed on the second floor soffits. Climbing 25 feet on a rickety ladder is not fun twice a week replacing fully charged batteries. My question: I looked all over SimpliSafe's website as to where you plug in the 3.5mm jack from the extension cord into the outdoor camera? Please help desperate not to fall 25 feet from ladder, gravity kills...

@timleach5200 The power cable can be plugged into the USB charging port on the back of the Outdoor Camera, which is located next to the Outdoor Camera's pairing button. It should be covered, but if you lift the cover it will reveal the charging port. I've also included an image below highlighting where this is.

Thank You Emily! I'm sorry it took so long to get back in touch but with Thanksgiving and family; things are really crazy. I just replaced two fully charged batteries today. I prayed I wouldn't fall two stories while I was on the ladder. Thank you very much!!!
